SSENSE.COM is the Montreal, Canada, based online emporium of luxury labels for both men and women.
Founded only a few years ago, SSENSE has already made its mark on the world of international online shopping for designer clothing and is now one of Canada’s fastest growing companies.
With a strong emphasis on blending high fashion ‘runway’ labels such as Givenchy, Lanvin, Kris Van Assche and Alexander McQueen alongside strong heritage brands such as Canada Goose and Levi’s, SSENSE.COM is a one-stop-shop for both your ‘best’ wardrobe pieces and your ‘everyday’ wardrobe staples. If these labels feel very ‘European’ for a Canadian retailer, it makes sense once you understand that Montreal, where the company is based, is actually French Canadian.
We also like the fact that SSENSE also showcases several leading ‘Made in Canada’ Canadian brands including Canada Goose jackets and ‘Wings + Horns’ jersey wear (which make fantastic logo-less sweaters and t-shirts).
British and European shoppers may note that the prices seem slightly dearer for the same product you might see via a different retailer on the MilanStyle website. This is because when Canadian (or American) companies import European made goods, there is an import tax placed on them which cannot be helped or avoided sadly. SSENSE.com does have a famous Black Friday sale each year where spectacular discounts can be had.
Browsing the website, the photography is crystal clear and allows you to see multiple angles of the same garment, as well as a large zoom function so you will really understand how the garment looks on the human body.
Sizing options are good and there are frequently extended sizes in clothing and footwear, not just the ‘standard’ sizes, although SSENSE does still not quite have as good a sizing range as Luisaviaroma.com or MR PORTER.

SSENSE.COM is a strong player addition the luxury menswear market and allows us gents to widen our net when it comes to tracking down that particular item we want by our favourite designer.
Postage is a little dearer than British and European shoppers are used to paying, however, this is in line with all American and Canadian that ship overseas. If shipping were free, we would be happy to award SSENSE 4/5, however, this is still a fantastic online store for high-end brands.
