WEBSITE, PRODUCT AND RANGE REVIEW
Which of us hasn’t bought something from John Lewis over the years? It’s where you go for wedding gifts, are doing up your home or need a new TV, isn’t it?
Actually, John Lewis are also starting to become a serious contender in some proper designer men’s labels that you might not have thought to look on their website for. The selection of brands that MilanStyle members might want to buy is not huge with John Lewis tending to focus on classic heritage brands, but the brands that they DO stock, they tend to stock a lot of the range for. Which is a good thing.
With a massive modernisation programme recently, John Lewis has turned the corner and is ready to become a big player in the men’s fashion arena. The more important thing for us is that the website is even better stocked for the designer labels we’re all about than the stores seem to be, with many exclusive products and lines you just can’t get in the stores. They do tend to be a little low stocked on particular items though and sizes you might be after, which is always frustrating. Moral of the story? See something you like on the site, like the price, got your size, buy it today. It’s like that with every store online that sells designer clothes to be honest, and if it wasn’t who’d want to be seen in the stuff they can’t get rid of. Anwyay.
Our personal favourite brands that you’ll find fairly good and sometimes even extensive ranges for:
Belstaff
Mulberry ‘man-bags’ and accessories – really nice range here.
Barbour jackets and accessories
Polo Ralph Lauren
ORDER PROCESS
They make it easy for you to order with no messing around and a quick checkout. We wish more retailers could be like this.
You can also get the item you’re ordering delivered to a John Lewis (or Waitrose) store near you, which is VERY handy if you happen to work in town nearby your local John Lewis for example. No more annoying “You were out when we called” cards left by Royal Mail!
DELIVERY
FREE STANDARD DELIVERY for purchases over £30
Standard delivery – £3 – (for purchases under £30)
Free next day delivery to your local John Lewis or one of 21 Waitrose stores
One thing we really rate John Lewis for is the customer service and integration of the stores and its website. Buy something online, don’t like it? Return it to the store. Order from the website and get *free next day delivery* to your local John Lewis or one of their 21 Waitrose stores (remember John Lewis group owns the Waitrose supermarket chain too).
If you just want to be lazy (like us) and get it delivered straight to your door, no problem, free standard delivery applies when you buy anything over £30 – chances are if you shopping through MilanStyle.co.uk, that’s not going to be an issue! If you’re just buying some socks or another small priced item though, delivery is still competitevely priced at only £3.
RETURNS PROCESS
Returns are FREE. So no excuse not to purchase from the site now.
You can also return to your nearest John Lewis store for a refund. Nice. The queues in post offices really are too long nowadays anyway.

Why?
Two reasons – Firstly, we only give 5/5 to retailers who offer free delivery full stop. That’s free delivery no matter how much you spend. At £30 as a minimum spend before you can get the free delivery, they’re almost there, just not quite yet.
The other reason is that JohnLewis.com does not offer international shipping or even shipping to Europe. MilanStyle.co.uk members come from all over the world so it would be unfair for us to rate them 5/5 stars when they won’t send the designer menswear our international members might need out to them… Yet. We’ll keep you posted if that changes.
