Family owned Italian brand Missoni sits alongside Etro as Italy’s leading print and textile specialist slash fashion brand.
Missoni, specialising in men’s knitwear and woollen garments is also famous for its multicolour zig-zag patterned men’s sweaters and scarves. In 1958 they launched their first clothing collection in Milan, causing a stir in the fashion world with their bold printed and woven garments. The 1970's saw the brand reach the height of its fame and influence on the world of knitwear (particularly their men’s signature ‘Bosforo’ sweaters) and by this point, they had opened their first boutique within the world famous Bloomingdales department store in New York.
To this day the company is still owned by the founding designers Ottavio Missoni and his wife, Rosita. In 1998 their daughter Angela Missoni took over creative control of the company, reinvigorating the Missoni house and ensuring its luxury status continues to evolve for the next generation of Missoni aficionados.
