IN 1925, FENDI was born as a small leatherware and fur specialist in Rome, Italy. Established by husband and wife team Edoardo and Adele Fendi, instantly they became famous for the quality of the products that bore their name. Catering to Rome's 'well to do', shopping at Fendi meant you had arrived, with the company's wallets, satchels and bags quickly becoming status symbols in Rome. As time moves on, the 1930s and 40s, the FENDI name, already well known in Rome, becomes famous throughout Italy.

In 1946, the Fendi couple's children join the family business, evolving the brand and bringing in new products to the range. It was at this moment that Fendi's brand becomes what we know it as today, signing a young, new Paris based stylist to the brand: Karl Lagerfeld. Lagerfeld goes on to introduce the now famous 'double F' logo which adorns all of the canvas and leather wallets and bags still produced today to the same incredible and uniquely Italian, or should that be, 'FENDI' high standard.

The Fendi family still have a large input into the brand's designs and it's management even today, almost 100 years later, even after joining forces with the PRADA and LVMH (Louis Vuitton) groups.
