Etro
Brand: etro
Founded in 1968 by the Milan based Etro family, the company continues to be family owned, creatively headed by Gimmo Etro today. ETRO's vision for menswear reflects the brand heritage in printed designs but also Kean (the founder's son) Etro's passion for exotic foreign travel. Much of the prints on ETRO's famously colourful men's shirts are inspired by his travels around the globe; with particular references to traditional Indian, African, Arabic and South American prints and colours all reflected in the range.
In the 1990's ETRO debuted it's ready to wear menswear collection, emphasising the brand's dedication to craftsmanship combined with Kean's distinctive take on menswear tailoring. The Pegasus (winged horse) symbol has become the brand's trademark logo and is often found discreetly placed on the breast pocket of shirts, or on the line's men's scarves and belts. Whatever collection ETRO produce though, you'll always find the brand's signature boldly coloured stipes and paisley prints form a core part of it, true to the brand and the Etro family's design roots.
