Giorgio Brato Leather Jackets – Making New Look ‘Vintage’

Giorgio Brato - A signature leather jacket.

Giorgio Brato is one of the fashion world’s best kept secrets. Even more so if you are a man who is into his leather jackets. It’s basically an ‘insider’s label’ – this is the understated brand you turn to when you already have a Dolce or Margiela leather jacket. A Giorgio Brato leather jacket is for the man who likes his labels to be underground and understated. And a little bit disheveled.

So, no, you won’t find logo-plates, ‘signature brand colours’, or expensive advertising campaigns in GQ or Esquire from Giorgio Brato (and sometimes that can be a good thing, as it keeps your favourite label discreet). What we especially rate about the brand is that the jackets look authentically second hand. Many of us who are into our clothes don’t have decades to wear in a jacket to that incredibly lived-in look that we all want our leather jacket to have. Or just as likely, we have too many to realistically ever wear in any one jacket to such a degree. Cue Giorgio Brato.

All that you need to know is that Mr. Brato has been in the Italian leather jacket making business his whole career, initially making jackets for Italy’s most famous luxury brands and then, branching out to found his own eponymous label in 2002. We’re glad he did.
