The Barbour story begins with John Barbour who was born in 1849 and raised on a farm in Galloway in West Scotland, the second son of a family whose links through history can incredibly be traced back to the 14th century. Let’s fast forward to the present day though and you’ve probably already seen that Barbour’s quilted ‘Chelsea’ and waxed cotton ‘International’ jackets – have become a mainstay in the city just as much as in the country, the place they were originally designed and intended to be used in.

The quality and workmanship of Barbour is impeccable, with much of the range still being made in England (something of a rarity these days) and the knitwear in Scotland and so worth every penny for clothing items which simply refuse to 'date' or go out of fashion. Prince Charles and The Queen are never without theirs when 'off duty' at their country estates. If you're after a practical, British brand (and you should be) with a Royal Warrant nonetheless, what more could you possibly ask for in garment?

Like our other British heritage brands, Burberry and Belstaff, the Italians have fully taken Barbour to heart, with the classic 'Beaufort', 'Bedale' and 'International' wax cotton jackets all a regular site on the style conscious streets of Milan.

The new season's range for men draws together new textured fabrics and layers, clever, functional styling and inspiration from the incredible Barbour archives for a unique collection, perfectly suited to the unpredictable British weather!

Barbour are also collaborating with the Japanese designer To Ki To again this season, creating the 'Barbour x To Ki To' collection, using his knowledge of historical garment construction techniques and high tech fabric combinations. Shop the Barbour x To Ki To collection now
