Balenciaga
Brand: balenciaga
The name Balenciaga is famous throughout the world of fashion. Founded in Spain by Cristóbal Balenciaga in 1918 at the end of WW1 with Europe ready to embrace style again, the house represents a fashion legend. Spanish aristocracy and even the Spanish Royal Family were his notable customers but with the advent of the Spanish Civil War he would eventually be forced to move to Paris to continue with his work.
Working alongside fashion greats like his friends Christian Dior and Hubert de Givenchy, he also became one of the greats of the age. Balenciaga died in 1972 but his name and house lives on under the direction of designer Nicolas Ghesquière who has made the modern brand one of the most coveted brands there is. Balenciaga is now owned by the Gucci Group, and both women’s and menswear are designed by Nicolas Ghesquière.
With a classic palette of muted navies, greys and blacks, Balenciaga’s men’s line caters to the discerning gentleman who wishes to stand out from the crowd only for the cut, quality and timeless style of his clothes.
